Plastic Baby Bottles

Have you been wondering if those plastic bottles are really worth it? Well according to watchdog group, Environment California, you should be sounding an alarm!

"Everyone of those five brands(Gerber, Playtex, AVENT, Dr. Brown's and Evenflo) leached a toxic chemical called Bisphenol A into the liquids inside the bottle," Laura Tabor, of Environment California said.

The group used independent labs and found the chemical Bisphenol A leached more into liquids whenever a bottle was heated or washed with harsh detergents.

"Bisphenol A has been linked to cancer, obesity, diabetes and a lot of other serious problems," Tabor said.

Besides baby bottles, Bisphenol A can be found in a wide variety of consumer products including eye glasses, reusable water bottles, and microwavable food containers. However, Environment California says baby products should be the first to be regulated.

And while some parents agree- some parents say they're not worried!

Sundance Experience

Our experience at Sundance was very successful!! We had a great time meeting all the wonderful editors, publishers, talent agents, and actors and actresses. So many of the individuals were just stunned at the softness bamboo produces in apparel and many said they would love a line for themselves! We had phenominal interest in our products and I am sure babies everywhere (at least a LOT in L.A.) will be sporting the BabyBam Collection in the next couple of weeks. It was a blast educating the industry about all the wonderful aspects of bamboo as well. The word is spreading. When we receive our pictures, I will post some for all to see.

Our focus for this charity event is to help bring awareness to not only all chromosomal 22 disabilities, but mainly to one of the many genetic conditions related to the genes on chromosome 22: Phelan-McDermid Syndrome. Our intentions are to raise awareness and funding to help support research that is desperately needed to help diagnose, treat, and possibly find a cure for chromosomal disorders.

"Green" Holiday Travels

Many of us plan to travel this year for the holidays, as holidays are meant for family celebrations! Or for some, the holidays are a great time of year to get away for a little R & R. Here are a few tips to make your travels more eco-friendly.

Try to stay at resorts or hotels that care about the environment or have "green" rooms. To conserve water and reduce pollution many hotels offer guests of not having the linens changed daily as well as reusing bath towels more than once. Some offer on site recycling, earth-friendly cleaners, low-flow toilets, and motion-activated lights. There are even resorts that go the extra step and offer organic cotton towels!
